Ingredients:
- 2 inches fresh ginger root, peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 cups filtered water
- 1 tbsp raw unfiltered honey
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
Instructions:
- Wash the ginger root thoroughly. Use a spoon or peeler to remove the skin, then slice the ginger into thin coins to increase surface area for extraction.
- Combine the sliced ginger and water in a saucepan. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then immediately reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Remove the pan from the heat and let it sit for 2-3 minutes to cool slightly to preserve the bioactive compounds of the honey.
- Strain the liquid into a heat-proof mug, discarding the ginger pieces.
- Stir in the raw honey and fresh lemon juice until the honey is fully dissolved.
