Ingredients:

  • 2 inches fresh ginger root, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 cups filtered water
  • 1 tbsp raw unfiltered honey
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

Instructions:

  1. Wash the ginger root thoroughly. Use a spoon or peeler to remove the skin, then slice the ginger into thin coins to increase surface area for extraction.
  2. Combine the sliced ginger and water in a saucepan. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then immediately reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
  3. Remove the pan from the heat and let it sit for 2-3 minutes to cool slightly to preserve the bioactive compounds of the honey.
  4. Strain the liquid into a heat-proof mug, discarding the ginger pieces.
  5. Stir in the raw honey and fresh lemon juice until the honey is fully dissolved.
