Ingredients:
- 1 lb lean ground beef (90% lean)
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
- 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
Instructions:
- Combine the lean beef, beaten egg, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a medium mixing bowl. Mix gently by hand and roll into 1-inch spheres.
- Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the meatballs and brown on all sides until they reach a deep mahogany color and a firm exterior, approximately 7-9 minutes.
- Lower the heat to medium. Pour the whisked honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, and grated ginger directly over the meatballs.
- Toss continuously for 3-5 minutes until the sauce bubbles and reduces into a thick, velvety glaze that clings to the meat.
